English Second Language (ESL): Power English Program

Introduction

Through this Power English Program, students will have opportunities to acquire basic, intermediate and advanced knowledge of English skills not only to understand the lectures but also to pursue the co-op work at Canadian work places. Also, students will be able to take official English Language Proficiency tests such as IELTS/CELPIP to achieve the successful result.

Duration: 32 Weeks
- The minimum course length is 6 weeks or 72 hours

Hours: 960 Hours

You graduate with:
- The foundation to read, write, speak, and listen in English
- The confidence to interact with other English speakers and merge into the Canadian
    culture

- Students will develop confidence in their test-taking skills
- The pre-requisite to enroll in other programs at Central College without further
     language testing required.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to help students build English language and communication skills by constantly interacting with real and practical contexts, and prepare the students for the academic and social communities. Each course focuses on language acquisition in four skill areas: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Test preparation elective classes such as IELTS and CELPIP are given to the advanced level students.

Students will take a comprehensive placement test on the first day to determine the English level.
